Style: 8/10 Gameplay: 8.5/10 Story: 2.5/3 Overall: 8/10
Katana Zero is a wonderfully crafted action platformer, that requires a fast reaction time, and a bunch of time for trial and error.
The pixel art is wonderfully animated with colorful enemies helping you plan out you next move. With the astounding music that speaks for itself. The style gets a 8/10
The Gameplay is fast paced where you have one point of health much like Hotline Miami where trial and error is the only way to improve your skills. Although there is a slowdown function explained in the game I find it a chore to use because by the time you find a place where you could use it you die right before you press the button. Although the game has eleven levels it does get a little repetitive, but is broken up with some different gameplay elements here and there. The gameplay gets a 8.5/10
The story is about Zero, who is a postwar vet in a cyber punk dystopia where he is a hitman for his psychiatrist. And that is all I can give without spoiling the rest of the intriguing story. The story gets a 2.5/3
Overall I love Katana Zero even with the gameplay becoming repetitive at times and the feeling of being unfinished with the game even after getting the true ending. Katana Zero gets a 8/10 I highly recommend you check it out.
